Junior League of Richmond Moves into Libbie Mill – Midtown

Charitable nonprofit organization selects vibrant mixed-use development as new HQ

Libbie Mill - Midtown, under development by Henrico-based Gumenick Properties, is thrilled to share that the Junior League of Richmond has leased approximately 2,717 square feet in the Penstock Quarter building located at 5000 Bakers Mill Lane Suite 165, adjacent to [solidcore] and Capital Eye Care. The newest addition to the commercial tenant mix at Libbie Mill illustrates continued demand for both high-quality retail and office space the community delivers into the local market. Harrison Hall and Peter Vick of Colliers International represented Libbie Mill – Midtown, while Veronica Wiles and Nathan Hughes of Sperity Real Estate Ventures represented the Junior League of Richmond in this lease transaction. The Junior League plans to take possession of the space in the coming days and is expected to relocate its headquarters to Libbie Mill soon.

Founded in 1926, the Junior League of Richmond is a charitable nonprofit organization of women, developed as civic leaders, making a demonstrable impact on their communities. It was admitted into The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc in 1927, and its members remain at the forefront of tackling the toughest and most critical issues of the day - including childhood nutrition and obesity, human trafficking, foster care, juvenile justice, teen self-esteem, and literacy, among others. “The Junior League of Richmond has a distinguished reputation for impacting meaningful, positive change. We are looking forward to welcoming the organization and all of its members to enjoy our vibrant and growing community.” states Diane Tidwell, director of property management for Gumenick Properties.

Since its inception, the Junior League’s commitment to the children and families of the Richmond community has remained steadfast. Today, the Junior League of Richmond’s community focus area is women helping women within the greater Richmond community, and it hopes to continue its mission while headquartered in Libbie Mill - Midtown. “The Junior League of Richmond is excited to join the Libbie Mill - Midtown community, with an anticipated move-in date of February 19, 2024. In searching for a new headquarters, the Junior League of Richmond looked for a space that embodied a strong community feel, ensured safety for our members, provided ample parking for our meetings, and provided visibility and accessibility within the community. The membership and leadership of the League believe that this new space meets these goals." states Quinn Novak, President of the Junior League of Richmond.

With this lease, only two commercial spaces, or 3,460 total square feet, remain to be leased at Libbie Mill. Both available spaces are located along Libbie Mill East Boulevard in Penstock Quarter, adjacent to Blue Ridge Cyclery and River Run Dental, respectively.
