ACACIA midtown finds new home at Libbie Mill!

Restaurant formerly voted best in Richmond signs lease at Libbie Mill – Midtown

Restaurateurs will embark on their venture in one of Richmond’s most vibrant communities.

ACACIA will be located in suite 105 of the Corner Shops at Libbie Mill

Henrico Co., VA., February 28, 2022 – The wait is officially over; Libbie Mill - Midtown, under development by Henrico-based Gumenick Properties, is thrilled to announce that ACACIA midtown, one of Richmond’s most esteemed restaurants, will locate in the rapidly growing mixed-use development. ACACIA has leased approximately 3,739 square feet in the Corner Shops building located at 2363 Roux Street Suite 105, continuing a year of strong demand and activity in the community.

ACACIA midtown holds a special place in Richmond’s dining scene since owners Aline and Dale Reitzer opened their original Carytown location in February 1998. In the last 20 years, the restaurant has played a preeminent role in establishing Richmond as a national destination for award-winning restaurants. Readers of the Richmond Times-Dispatch voted ACACIA the best restaurant in Richmond, and it has also received acclaim from The Washington Post’s Tom Sietsema, calling it “Richmond’s Best restaurant.” Dale Reitzer, co-owner and chef of ACACIA midtown, is a four-time nominee for the James Beard Foundation Best Chef Mid-Atlantic Award, was twice named Richmond’s chef of the year, and was named America’s best new chefs in 1999 by Food and Wine Magazine. “We are thrilled to continue our passion at Libbie Mill. Our plan was always to open another restaurant, and we believe the time and location are a perfect fit. We are looking forward to bringing our new venture to such a vibrant community and creating an experience our long-time supporters and new diners will enjoy,” states Aline Reitzer, co-owner of ACACIA midtown and founder of Richmond Restaurant Week, of the motivation to open their newest location this year at Libbie Mill.  Based on current planning, ACACIA midtown will open in its new location in the fall of this year.

“We are very excited to welcome ACACIA midtown to our community. ACACIA has been a pioneer of chef driven dining in Richmond, and the opportunity to add a restaurant with such a respected position in the local food scene is something we are very proud of,” states Skip Nash, Gumenick Properties’ vice president of property management. “ACACIA will be a great complement to Libbie Mill’s existing restaurants, Shagbark, Crafted and Brass Tap, which will be coming soon. We anticipate the trend of strong commercial demand to continue through 2022 as we also welcome new residents into our for-sale community and our apartment homes.” For more information on leasing commercial space, apartment availability, or for-sale townhome or condominium availability, please visit www.libbiemill.com.  Harrison Hall and Peter Vick of Colliers International represented Libbie Mill – Midtown in this lease transaction.
